Public Transportaion —

There are private taxis available and Council on Aging also has handicap buses on-call (684-0778) to help transport you to the Leavenworth VAMC. 

If you live outside the Leavenworth area, there is a VA Volunteer van in St. Joseph, Missouri. Please call (816) 279-2101 for information about the availability of the van.

Driving directions to the medical center

From the South

Take I-70 to the Bonner Springs/Leavenworth Exit # 224 North on Hwy 7 approximately 13 miles.  The VAMC will be on your right after crossing Muncie Road.

From the North

Take I-29 to Platte City, then take Hwy 92 to Leavenworth.  Once you cross the bridge over the Missouri River you will be on Metropolitan.  Turn left at the first street light and head south on 4th Street (Hwy 7) approximately 4 miles.  The  VAMC will be on your left.
