Copayments
The US Department of Veterans Affairs has established guidelines for veterans and their copayments. Copayments may be charged for the following services —
Co-payments are due upon receipt of the monthly statement. Payment may be made in person to the Agent Cashier at either the Leavenworth or Topeka facilities or mailed to the either the address on the bill or directly to either the Leavenworth or Topeka facilities. Interest and administrative charges begin to accrue 30 days after the date of the bill.
If you are an enrolled veteran with health insurance, your care may be billed to your insurance provider. If we bill your insurance provider, your co-pay bill will not be issued until 90 days after the date of that billing.
If you have any questions about your co-payment balance, please contact the Health Revenue Center at the following toll free number: 1-866-393-4074
Other Health Insurance
The Department of Veterans Affairs now bills private health insurance companies for care received by their enrollees. You should bring your insurance card with you for your appointment and present it during the check-in process. What's in it for me?
Medicare/Medicaid
The Department of Veterans Affairs does not bill Medicare or Medicaid at this time. You may, however, wish to review information for veterans about the new Medicare prescription drug benefits.
