VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System
Domicilliary Care Services - Leavenworth
Leavenworth Domiciliary Program
The Leavenworth Domiciliary is a 150-bed residential facility with treatment programs for a variety of challenges including homelessness, substance use disorders and chronic mental health concerns. The program is designed to be 120 days during which time Veterans will engage in group therapies to assist with getting on the path of wellness.
During their stay Veterans will work with an interdisciplinary treatment team comprised of a social worker, psychologist, psychiatrist, primary care provider, nurses, rehab technicians and many other staff. This team will work with the Veteran to identify a care plan that best meets the goals of the Veteran while in treatment. Veterans will meet with members of their treatment team once monthly to review progress and to make any updates to their treatment plan.
The Domiciliary currently offers the following treatment tracks:
• Substance Use Disorders
• Dual Diagnosis
• Vocational Rehabilitation
• Moral Reconation Therapy
Staff will also work with Veterans to develop a safe discharge plan, including exploring housing options for those who are homeless, to ensure continued success following treatment.
